How visits are recorded
The shortest-lived data we keep is the server entry for one page request, kept for 30 days. A partner-link click is recorded separately, and we remove the IP address and browser string from that record after 90 days.
Revised
What does the server store for each request?
- Each request gets a server record.
- The record holds the IP address and the browser string.
- It also holds the address of the referring page and the requested address.
- It holds the time of the request.
- Each record is kept for 30 days.
- When the delivery provider reports it, the record also holds an approximate country derived from the IP address.
What happens to campaign tags in a page address?
When a page address carries campaign tags, those tags are stored together with the request. The campaign reference remains part of the stored request. That means the request record keeps the campaign context from the address, alongside the technical details of the same request.
Does the website set analytics or advertising cookies?
The website itself sets neither analytics cookies nor advertising cookies. No cookie of either kind is placed in the reader's browser by us. The visit records described here do not depend on cookies set by this website.
Which providers process requests for this website?
Requests pass through infrastructure providers that supply hosting and delivery. Those providers process the requests on our behalf. The providers are not named. The reader's request is therefore handled by providers in that hosting and delivery role, while the processing is done for this website.
What can a partner casino link send onward?
Some pages link to casinos as partners, and following such a link may earn the website a reward. An affiliate link may also pass data about the click to the partner, to a casino or to its affiliate programme. The data passed is the address of the website the reader came from, the reader's country, the domain of this website and the address of the page. That transfer is tied to the click, not to a page view by itself.
What happens to an affiliate-link click record?
- A followed affiliate link creates a click record.
- The record holds the reader's country and browser string.
- It also holds the page and the IP address.
- The IP address and browser string are erased after 90 days.
- The click record stays after that without the IP address and browser string.
- The casinos behind affiliate links are external websites with their own rules and policies.
Which visit totals are kept longer than the server records?
- Aggregated visit statistics are kept longer than the individual server records.
- No IP address is attached to them.
- Popular pages are included in the totals.
- Sources of visits are included as well.
- Browsers are included.
- Countries are included when the delivery provider reports them.
- The number of visits is included.
